Gender Action Group at Washington and Lee University

Welcome to  the blog for Washington and Lee’s Gender Action Group (GAG, yup, that’s our acronym!).  This group formed in the wake of the Juicy J controversy of Fancy Dress, 2014.  Our aims are (1)  to provide a forum for critical thinking and intelligent discussion about gender issues  and about issues that intersect with gender; (2) to generate campus programs and events that promote a healthy atmosphere for women and men on campus; and (3) to anticipate gender problems before they happen and thereby prevent further entrenchment of negative gender dynamics.

A much more rudimentary form of a blog was used in the spring of 2008 to address issues on campus.  Here’s a link to that site, which is called “Speaking Freely.”
